Hi there,

I have created several ebooks now all using ebook pro, I create the pages in word .doc first then simply copy this into the ebook pro software.

This is all working fine, I can use this software with ease now, however, I am getting people purchase the ebook on both windows computers and also mac.

This were the problem lies the people with mac computers can not download the ebooks correctly or open them, I am getting complaints! I have been simply sending these people the files in word .doc which is keeping them happy...But I don't really like the idea of doing this as it leaves my ebooks open to anything and anyone to copy and use.

Is there a way to create the ebooks using ebook pro that is ok for mac computer users, only I don't want to loose their custom, but at the same time I don/t really want to be sending out word .doc files either...Can someone please suggest something I can do ?

Thank you

Janine

Hi Janine,

eBook Pro 6.5 already compiles both Windows and Mac compatible versions of any eBooks you create. If you installed eBook Pro 6.5 Business Edition then you should already have the latest version.

If not, go to the 'Member Tools' area in IEC and and download the latest version of eBook Pro from there.

After you compile your eBook and upload it to the eBook Pro server, it will provide you with two download URLs, one for Windows and one for Mac that you can distribute.

Thanks for reply, sorry more questions, how do I upload the ebook to the server do you mean to my site? also how do I intergrate paypal so that my codes get sent automatically?

Do I add a link to word and mac or is this done at point of sale?

Hi Janine,

You simply need to click the 'Upload eBook' button to upload your eBook in eBook Pro.

PayPal recently completely re-designed their payment button creation form and we need to do things a little differently now. The tutorial in eBook Pro does not reflect the changes and we are in the middle of updating that as well.

What you will need to do is re-create your 'Buy Now' button at PayPal and make sure on 'Step 2' you have the 'Save Button At PayPal' option turned ON.

You cna create the 'Buy Now' payment button by going to paypal.com and logging in then click on 'Merchant Services'.

On Step 3, make sure you turn ON the 'Advanced Variables' option and put in 'custom=12345' where 12345 is your actual eBook ID. You can find out what your eBook ID is by opening up eBook Pro Client Tools and look at the eBook ID column.

On the last step after you click the 'Create button' option, if you see something that says 'remove code protection', make sure you select that as well!

Let me know how that works out for you.
