I plan to use Hover Ads on a BeBiz website which is selling my eBook and on a longer established non-BeBiz organizational website, for several purposes. I have not used Hover Ads before, but I believe they will be very helpful in several ways.

What are the best/most effective places to use them on a website?

I have a webform to capture e-mail addresses from visitors to my BeBiz website homepage, but is it also good to have a Hover Ad at the end for the same purpose or would that be too annoying? If it is a good idea, should I offer a different report or informative newsletter subscription with the end Hover Ad?

Is it better to use Hover Ad at the end of my sales page for a price reduction on the offered product?

Are there "best" examples of good Hover Ads that I can look at and learn from?

What are the statistics for effectiveness of Hover Ads located at different places on a home or sales page sales page? For an exit offer?

Thanks for your help with these questions,

Hi Brian,

I do not have the statistics you are looking for as every single website is differet, with different copy, different audiences etc. so those numbers would be extremely difficult and unreliable.

You need to do some test to find out what works best for your website and audience.

I would keep the Hover Ad timed so it comes down in 5 -8 seconds not right away as people do tend to close the box right away for most websites.

It should other promote an offer (repeat your call to action ie. remember you only have until Sept. 1 to get 50% Your Guide on How to Train Your Dog in Ten Easy Steps) but if that is the case time it so they have a chance to read the copy and get the benefits or you can just echo your opt-in offer just as it is so it does not confuse them.

Hope that helps,

Nicole E
