Hello to everybody. smile.gif

I' ve got a couple of questions to ask rergarding Ebook creation.

I' ve used Bebiz and I am to the point where it states "My Product image".

Now, is this "Product Image" the Ecover of the Ebook itself that I am planning to produce?
or just only any graphics image? unsure.gif

Second question, what exactly is the "Call to action" in Bebiz? unsure.gif

Third question, If I purchase an Ebook Compiler such as Ebook Pro, then is the final product
created by EBook Pro an exe file? and if this is the case, isn't that a disadvantage
in these turbulent times with so many viruses around? ohmy.gif

Fourth question, if I finally purchase EBook Pro, then would I be able to transform
the final exe file into pdf format which can be read on all operating systems
such as (Windows,MacOS, Unix, Linux...) biggrin.gif

Fifth question, are the exe files which are produced by Ebook Compiler programmes
always bigger than pdf files and isn't that a disadvantage? laugh.gif

Sixth question, has IMC developed any Ecover Creation software and if not, can you please
state any suggestions you may have regarding this issue? mellow.gif

Seventh question, if I purchase an Ecover creation Software then, would I need
another Grahics Editor Software to produce some Graphics within the Ebook? cool.gif

Please forgive my ignorance and my asking too many questions, but I am a newcomer in this field
and I am trying to clarify these things as much as possible in order to avoid making costly mistakes. dry.gif

Thanks very much that you had the patience to read this post.

Best regards.

Hi Dino,

Those are all very good questions and I will try and answer all of them as concise as possible, however, should you need further clarification on any of my points, please do let me know.

“Now, is this "Product Image" the Ecover of the Ebook itself that I am planning to produce?
or just only any graphics image?”

Answer: No this is the eCover of the eBook product that will show up on your order page and not inside the actual eBook itself.

“Second question, what exactly is the "Call to action" in Bebiz?”

Answer: The ‘Call to action’ stage is in the ‘Ask for the Order’ section of your salescopy. This is the part where you try to entice the person into buying the product.

“Third question, If I purchase an Ebook Compiler such as Ebook Pro, then is the final product
created by EBook Pro an exe file? and if this is the case, isn't that a disadvantage in these turbulent times with so many viruses around?”

Answer: There is no disadvantage as you will be digitally delivery the eBook file via download link, so you will not be using attachments in your emails that you send. Only attachments cause potential problems.

“Fourth question, if I finally purchase EBook Pro, then would I be able to transform
the final exe file into pdf format which can be read on all operating systems
such as (Windows,MacOS, Unix, Linux...)”

Answer: eBook Pro works from HTML documents, so it does not covert HTML into PDF as PDF (Portable Document Format) is a proprietary format of Adobe. You can use a freeware program such as PrimoPDF to convert HTML documents into PDF if you like.

“Fifth question, are the exe files which are produced by Ebook Compiler programmes
always bigger than pdf files and isn't that a disadvantage?”

Answer: No they are not necessarily large than PDF and as long as your eBook is less than 20MB, I am sure most people will not have problems downloading it.

“Sixth question, has IMC developed any Ecover Creation software and if not, can you please
state any suggestions you may have regarding this issue?”

Answer: No we have not made any eCover creation software, although I hear good things about http://www.coveractionpro.com/ and http://www.webgraphicscreator.com/

“Seventh question, if I purchase an Ecover creation Software then, would I need
Graphics Editor Software to produce some Graphics within the Ebook?”

Answer: eBook Pro does not generate graphics for you, however, you can import any type of image into the eBook editor. Ultimately you should design these images outside of eBook Pro with a proper image editing program such as Photoshop etc.

Hello Dino
My name is chris and I thought I might jump in here and clarify a little since you were talking about ecovers. Alex has excellent answers to those questions and I would have to agree with him.The coveractionpro.com Alex mentioned is a good idea. It actually requires you to have photoshop 7, CS, CS2, or CS3. Photoshop 7 is a basic version very costly effective and works just as well for editing or creating ebook covers. It is a smart investment if I may say so. You could make just that one purchase for photoshop 7 and buy an actionscript for creating ebook covers. All an actionscript is a set of commands that you apply to a picture to create your ebook cover in a matter of seconds. I know Sherryl, who is a member of IEC, she has the resell rights to an ebook action script. I believe she said it was 70 dollars or you can pay the $97 for all of the ebook cover templates. It is a very smart investment and saves you time in the future when creating ebook covers. Also, Photoshop CS, CS2, and CS3 have a high learning curve if you do not know how to use the software. I would suggest buying photoshop 7 so you can easily create your ebook covers without problems or hassles. You can purchase photoshop 7 at amazon.com for around $100 or pay the $460 for Photoshop CS3. I would do the research to find out what is the best for me in my opinion. Hope this helps you Dino.

GOOD LUCK! biggrin.gif

Hello to everybody. tongue.gif

Thanks very much Alex for your very positive feedback. smile.gif

Also thanks very much Chris for your fruitful comments. biggrin.gif

Alex, can you please clarify one or two more things please?

I appreciate your comment made about EBook Pro regarding the original file
produced. But isn't the final product delivered to the customer an exe file? ohmy.gif

And suppose that I purchase finally EBook Pro, would I then be able
to plug this exe file into a pdf conversion programme like Primo for instance
that you mentioned in order to transform it into a pdf file?? unsure.gif

From what I understand, I realize that you definitely need three things
in order to finally create and publish an Ebook, except of the content of
course: 1) an ECover Generator software, 2) A Graphics Editor programme
like Adobe Photoshop for example and 3) An Ebook Compiler Software
like Ebook Pro. wink.gif

Now please tell me, is the above correct or there is something else missing
from the above list? cool.gif

By the way, I discovered a Graphics Editor software which costs only 17$
and it claims to produce absolutely fantastic graphics. Can you Please check it and
tell me your opinion. This is the address:

You Want These Graphics

Thanking you in Advance tongue.gif

Best Regards.

Hi Dino,

"I appreciate your comment made about EBook Pro regarding the original file
produced. But isn't the final product delivered to the customer an exe file?"

Answer: Yes the final product delivered is an exe file, but so is every other Windows application out there. The exe format is not inherently insecure, it is only a problem if malcious people hide virus's on purpose in them.

"And suppose that I purchase finally EBook Pro, would I then be able
to plug this exe file into a pdf conversion programme like Primo for instance
that you mentioned in order to transform it into a pdf file??"

Answer: I am not quite sure I understand why you would need to do this. PDF (Portable Document Format) is an proprietary Adobe format and does not have the same flexible security features of eBook Pro. Making a PDF file totally defeates the purpose of having eBook Pro.

"From what I understand, I realize that you definitely need three things
in order to finally create and publish an Ebook, except of the content of
course: 1) an ECover Generator software, 2) A Graphics Editor programme
like Adobe Photoshop for example and 3) An Ebook Compiler Software
like Ebook Pro."

Answer: Yes that is correct, although you do not need to resort to an expensive program like Photoshop at first. You may want to check out Paint.net as it is completely free and works very well. You can download it from here: http://www.getpaint.net/

"By the way, I discovered a Graphics Editor software which costs only 17$
and it claims to produce absolutely fantastic graphics. Can you Please check it and
tell me your opinion."

Answer: I have never heard of this program and I cannot recommend since I have no experience with it. At first glance it looks fairly unpolished and amateurish. I recommend you try out Paint.net in my previous recommendation.
