Hi there,
I am a little confused about how I would send out my ebook. I have created it using ebook pro and am advertising it through my website.
I am using paypal and have an auto-response from my payment page back to my thank you page, but that's were I get stuck.
I am using 1&1 as my host and used website builder to create the website, which has turned out quite well. However as I have used this there is no option to add my ebook to my auto-responder email. They don't facilitate this so I am looking into other possibilities.
I have emailed Aweber to find out if they are compatible with 1&1 as this appears to be the cheapest option for me right now. I do want to use mailoop but can't afford this right now so as a short term measure while I am starting out can you suggest any possibilities please?
Many thanks
Janine

Hi Janine,
If you are not planning on using Mailloop to distribute your eBook username and passwords automatically, the only other system that supports this is 1shopping carts e-commerce system.
You can visit their site at
http://www.1shoppingcart.comIf you aren't planning on using a shopping cart basket then then you would need to resort to send usernames/passwords manually to every customer that purchases an eBook online unfortunately.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the reply.
I contacted paypal to see if there was anyway they were able to send the ebook from their site. They recommended payloadz or streaming as an auto responder they support. Have you heard of either of these? and if so what are they like?
I will use mailloop eventually, but finances are a bit tight after xmas and I only have one ebook at the moment so I am just starting out really and need to reign in the expenses as I will need spare money for ppc and advertising etc..
cheers

Hi Janine,
I have heard of Payloadz for digital product delivery but I have not heard of anyone using their system to distribute eBook codes so I cannot comment on it.

Hi Alex,
I have got a question to ask, please.
I have my ebook created fine and am now live with my site that I will sell it from. But I am not sure how I send the ebook. I am purchasing mailloop 7 as my auto responder. But until then I will send out myself any requests to buy it.
How do I put all the ebook together into a file to send? I have introduction, contents and 50 seperate pages, do I have to send each seperately only I can not see how to hold it all together into one file to attach to my email to send.
Sorry I hope this makes sense and I have explained myself properly. Can you please help?
Thanks
Janine

Hi Janine,
Did you put your eBook together with our eBook Pro software yet? If so and you have compiled it, then you need to upload the compiled eBook to your webserver so that your customers can download it.
Let me know what stage your are at and I'll be able to clarify things for you.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the reply.
I have created the ebook using ebook pro 6, Imc product.
The ebook is finished and I am at the stage of trying to upload it to my web server. I have a website on 1and 1 autismsocialstories.com which is where I want to sell the ebook from.
I do not yet have mailloop 7 but am trying to get a copy. Money is tight till the end of the week, so I need to be able to send out the ebook myself until I can get mailloop going!!
So I need help uploading the ebook to my site, Ideally into a zip file that I can send out as I get orders in.
Thanks for the help

Hi Janine,
You will need to upload your compiled eBook file via FTP. If you are unfamiliar with FTP (file transfer protocol), it's just a way of uploading/downloading files from a webserver.
Your compiled eBook should be in C:\My eBooks\ in a special folder called 'something_compiled' where 'something' is the eBook name.
Usually you need an FTP software program to connect to your webserver, however, many hosting companies provide a built in web-based FTP file manager in their cPanels. All the popular webhosts such as 1and1 provide this.
As an alternative, you can download a very easy to use FREE FTP program called SmartFTP which you can download from the link below.
http://www.smartftp.comTutorials on how to use SmartFTP are available here:
http://smartftp.com/support/howto/And their knowledgebase with common questions is available here:
http://smartftp.com/support/kb/I hope this helps you out to get started!

I think now it looks so much better, a bit of a doh moment there i guess!!
Anyway i am not very technical (bet you guessed that), and I am unsure how to upload the ebook to my site, i am with 1 and 1 and do have ftp with them, but i don't know what to do. Once i have it on the website how do i send it then if i cant use email?
I did have a try with the ftp, but got no where, could I please ask you for some help?

Hi Janine,
Can you tell me if you were able to use SmartFTP to log into your site?
Did you go through the SmartFTP tutorials yet? If not, you definately should do that.

Hi Alex,
I was unable to uplosd the ebook to my site using ftp, guess I'm not technical enough yet!!
I went back through all the links I had created in the ebook and re-did them, fortunately it all works ok now the only thing I was unable to do was attach my ecover, but I'm not so worried about that.
I decided as I was getting nowhere fast with the ftp that I would create an account with payloadz and upload it to them which was simple to do, and so now when the potential customer clicks my buy button on site they go to paypal and get a link to payloadz where they download the ebook.
I guess until I become more technical I will have to stick to this way.
Thanks for the help though, I will get there one day, it's all a learning curve I guess at the start.

Hi Janine,
Great to hear you are making great progress! You will understand the FTP stuff eventually...the technical stuff will come with time.
Keep persisting!

Hi Alex
I don't know where to begin!!!
I have started using payloadz to distribute my ebook, which seems to be ok. I hope now the ebook is compiled correctly, it appears to be, I hope!!!!
What I am having trouble with is that ebook pro puts it into .exe format, ok but I can't send this by email, it's not allowed.
I have had trouble since then first off the only page sent was the index.html, not cool.
I thought I had the problem beat when I re-compiled the ebook yet again I then sent myself a test run of the ebook and on the browser at the top where it say's open, it appears to open all my computer files not just the ebook!!!!
Worse than that it has been sent out to customers like that, I would not of known there was even a problem had it not been for one very nice lady, who pointed it out to me.
I have been back to my ebook files and I for the life of me can not figure out how on earth they have got all intergrated up with my computer files??
Any ideas I really do not want all manner of folk looking through all my files!!!
So what do i do???? HELP please
Janine

Hi Alex
Things were still not going as they should. I uploaded the zip folder you did for me yesterday, but it is still not opening as it should.
So I began thinking this must be a problem with payloadz maybe there is a link problem?? I don't know, but the ebook is still not going properly and it is not opening, I am making very very sure I send the correct file, so that is not the problem.
I have made the decision I am a complete dohnut and I guess the only logical solution rather than mucking about trying to save myself money at the moment, I am trying to save for my Dad's 65th birthday he wants us all to go away!!!!!
Is to purchase mailloop7 at least I can be sure that everything is compatible and then try and sort this all out!!!
So that is what I am off to do right now, buy mailloop7 and attempt to salavge my impatient customers!!
Yesterday was brilliant watching my computer come alive, I even called my husband in to watch, aren't we sad!!!
Thanks again Alex I will update you as to the progress

Hi Janine,
I'll be honest with you, I don't think you are quite ready for Mailloop because there is a learning curve and some considerable time that you will need to invest into getting it up and running.
Let me save you some money and help you resolve your inital problem here...
Can you private mesage me with a download link to the new version of the zipped eBook you uploaded? I'd like to test it.
To Private Message me, click the PM button under my name.

I got my ebook to work with the pro version by giving the user & password after they buy. You have to compile the ebook and upload it to the servers, and then you have to go through and generate the paypal code that you then paste in another page that I forgot, andyway, it gives you final code that you paste on your website. When people click buy it, they go to paypal and pay and get the download link and the user & password.
Works like a piece of cake. Thanks IMC!
